Project One- Self Expression Through Objects
Introduction
This first project is newly introduced for students to embrace and learn the elements and design principles of visual arts through designing an object. We were tasked to make an object which represents our strongest personality.
In making the prototype of the object through hands-on and process-driven design method, I will learn to explore materials, joints, surfaces, form and shapes for my design.
OBJECTIVES
1. To explore the elements and principles of art
2. To explore applying aforementioned principles to communicate subjective ideas through objects
3. To introduce the basic methods of generating ideas and abstracting conceptual narratives for
design
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Draw students’ attention to subjective matters which play a major role in architecture
2. Produce objects to communicate ideas
3. To explore one form of generating design concept/idea
4. Construct a representational piece of art based on the initial ideas that have been abstracted and
redefined through the process of translation and interpretation
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• 1 final model of your object at 1:1 scale
• A2 board; consist of drawings,design development,diagrams and write up (50 words).
• Verbal presentation

Everything starts from myself, thinking what is the best to describe myself. After that,i turned that personality into some drawings and shown it to my tutors.
Through the tutorial class,i was guided and taught by my tutors on how to apply basic theories of designs into this project.
In the process of making my model,i used brown cardboard as my material as the material showed that i am a much of a nature lover and a solid person on the outside.
What i want to present is the piano and the butterflies.Piano represent a chance for you to show people what you can do.But fear are always in the way. So,if youre willing to break free from your fear, and played that piano, anything coud happen. The possibility is endless.
Project Two- Life Capsule
INTRODUCTION
The main purpose of Project 2 is to heighten the awareness of the human body, interaction of
space and body, and explore the reason behind shaping the form. This was done through designing a confined space called ‘Life Capsule’ for a 24-hour use. The limited space has challenged me to thoroughly examine and consider anthropometry and ergonomics - body dimensions, body movements, human behaviours and user needs. Throughout the project, I have understood
how the human body relates to space, and further developing an understanding of scale and proportion in
the relationship between the body and space.
In this project, I have explored more about the role of function and objective parameters
in the design process. 3-dimentional thinking, looking from different angles, applying different types of
drawings (like sections, rather than mere plans) and creative models are essential to develop the design of
the confined space.
OBJECTIVES
1. To further the student’s concern about elementary user needs
2. To introduce and create an awareness of scale and proportion of the human body
3. To introduce the role of human behavior in shaping the space
4. To explore how human anthropometry and ergonomics relating to space
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. To explore objective parameters of design process through solving real-life architectural problems
2. Be able to distinguish and discern the role of scale and proportion in the relationship between the
human body and a designed space or enclosure
3. Understanding of human factors to the design of space (its size, shape, and how appropriate it is
for the task) to improve comfort, safety, and productivity
4. To explore the relation of form and function
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Presentation Panel A2 Boards (1 or 2)
• Model 1:1 (Refer to your lecture for type e.g. section, detail model)
• Verbal Presentation 5 minutes

This project is a group work where we brainstormed ideas of what activities can the user do in the limited space.
Our initial ideas is approved by our tutors and began further developing the final design of creating a small capsule that is attached to a cliff.
Our space is designed wisely so that all spaces will have its own usage and not wasted.
The board have generally explain how the user in our space will use it.
Project Three -Dreamscape For The Self 'Hideout'
INTRODUCTION
By going through this exercise, students will get the real essence of how architectural design will start from a notion and develop through a process affected by multiple forces. There are two parts in Project 3.
In Part A, I have worked with a partner where we worked on exploring several design principles, materializing some
meanings and ‘reading’ architectural designs in a series of design tasks and studio based group exercises.
In Part B, individually, I started designing a dream space for a celebrity or a VIP.
OBJECTIVES
1. To understand and apply basic design principles and terminologies
2. Develop design skills through analysis and ‘reading’ existing buildings
3. To further the student’s ability to create and develop a conceptual narrative
4. To be able to consider objective and subjective parameters in the design process to create a space
which is practical yet poetic
5. To be able to select and make different study models (sketch, concept, diagram, section and
development models)
LEARNING OUTCOMES
1. Design a space that embodies and expresses an idea or conceptual narrative
2. Be able to identify, articulate and apply basic design principles in spatial organization and
relationships
3. Be able to create, articulate and illustrate the poetics of spatial quality
4. Be able to produce and choose wisely among variety type of models with the aim of generating and
developing design as well as better presentation of idea
5. Advance communication skills through sketching internal expression of space, diagrams and
variety type of models
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Presentation Panels - A2 Boards (3 pieces)
• Final Model Scale 1:50
• Verbal Presentation 5 minutes
• Evidence of design process and thoughts through study models to be displayed alongside final model.

Part A
In this group project, my group mates and I have acquired our ideas from the movie 'Tron Legacy', which means that the site buidings will show the characteristic of futurity with the famous stunning blue stunning neon light.

Part B
After making the site model, I have chosen the best location to place my model.
The dream client I have picked is Steve Jobs. I started mindmapping his personalities and also achivements to get to know more about him and design the Hideout for him.
So i started drawing out designs that suited him best and finally, I decided to use modeling board as my materials and finalized my designs.
When my model is done, I began planning on my 3 A-2 boards ,all the drawings are related to the other course know as Design Communication, which plan, elevation, axonometry, section, and sectional perspective are to be included.
