Environmental Sustainability Design [ ARC1413 ]

[ GROUP / INDIVIDUAL ] Project : Nature And Us

Project Objective:

To increase awareness of current environmental issues locally and globally
To explore the local and global context of growth and therefore realizing the relationship between growth and

its impact on the environment.

My group consist of 3 people,Lancelot Ting (Me),Tan Yew Siang and Wong Yan Ce. We were require to find a topic in our esd textbook and do a research on it. Initially,the topic that we have chosen was 'Global Warming'.But because that topic is a little bit too wide for us.In the end,we chose one of the sub topic of Global Warming,which is 'The effect of climate change in Malaysia.' We were then asked to do a research of the chosen topic on an infographic poster with a condition that it must be within Malaysia context and we also gave some international context as an example or a comparison. Learning Outcome:

From this project,I have learnt and finally got a bigger picture of how our country or even the Earth is affected by climate change or in a bigger scale Global Warming.There is no way that development around the world is going to stop so now what we can do is to change how we develop by doing less damage to our environment and learn how to adapt to those changes and the influences of Global Warming on the Earth and climate changes happening around nations.

As an architect,it is not only the aesthetic that we are searching for,but also the ability of the structure to help the environment,be it during the construction process,site context or the design.
